This was an interesting one. With this being a John Daly Signature Course I was expecting a lot of long holes that catered to the bomber, and for it to be sort of an open layout with a lot of water (the course is in Niagara Falls, after all). So with that in mind, I was surprised to find the course tucked into a residential area with little water and the “Daly Tees” topping out at just over 6500 yards.

That being said, taking away prior expectations the course was actually a very nicely laid out, fantastically maintained, fun course that had a good variety of holes. And that’s not to say there weren’t any John Daly inspired features. As soon as you pull into the lot you’ll see the John Daly insignia sprinkled amongst the property, there are customized John Daly golf carts, a life-size cut out of the man himself in the pro-shop, along with some golf memorabilia encased in the front lobby. Due to COVID-19 there were some restrictions in place for a lot of the clubhouse, so its possible there was even more that I just wasn’t able to see.

All in all, despite my prior expectations coming into the round, I’d say this course is a success. A longer set of “Daly Tees” and a bit more difficulty would boost it even higher in my rankings, but it was definitely a fun round. Forget about the fact that it’s a John Daly course and just enjoy the strategic layout, tee shots that look nice to the eye, well-designed bunkers, fast and well-maintained greens, and try to keep your ball out of the fescue/long grass.
