Much like Harbour Town last week, TPC River Highlands is another favorite course of Tour players and should set up for an exciting week. I’d be remiss if I didnt mention the multiple withdrawals this event has suffered due to COVID-19. As of 5:30 PM on Wednesday evening, the following players have withdrawn:
- Cameron Champ
- Webb Simpson
- Brooks and Chase Koepka
- Graeme McDowell
Regardless, as we stand now, we still have a golf tournament to be played and there are still lots of big names on the tee sheet.
Continuing the strategy of betting my top-5 overall ranked players from “The Sheet,” we had the winner last week with Webb Simpson at 29/1. This week’s top-five (after Covid adjustments) are Bryson, JT, Bubba, Abraham Ancer and Rory McIlroy. I will also sprinkle a few dollars on Niemann at 55/1, Hovland at 60/1 and Harman at 80/1.
In terms of matchups, there now is enough data to get back into those. I had Koepka over DJ but that’s obviously wiped out now; which leaves just two Matchup bets for the week: Rory over Rahm and Niemann over Finau.
With last week’s win, that brings the total to 3 wins in 9 events (with multiple playoff losses) and we will pickup where we left off with match-ups at 24-10 on the season
The following are what’s left of the field after I whittled things down. I’ve highlighted my top plays for the week, but will be rostering all of these players in various lineups this week.
In terms of roster construction, I find the best way is to make categories and then fill out your lineup within those barriers. The categories I made mine up of this week were: Recent Form, Course History, High/Low Pairs, Mid Range Costing Players, Players with Low Ownership, Triplets, and finally, teams by my Rankings. This week I’ve made three teams within each of those categories, giving me a nice balance of lineups. All it takes is one to hit for your week to be worth it. Good luck!
