21 Canadians started the week, seven remain. And of the four amateurs, Chris Crisologo is the lone one standing. Chris is in the clubhouse at seven-under through two rounds. The top Canadian overall at the halfway point is Nick Taylor. Nick shot a second round 67 to get in at nine-under. Notables packing up early include Adam Hadwin, Corey Conners, Jared Du Toit, Mike Weir and Austin Connelly. On the positive side however, there are four Canadian players in the top-twenty. All of Canada would love to see at least one of them make a run over the weekend.

Made the Cut
T-10th — Nick Taylor (-9)
If I play well and I’m low Canadian, that’s great, but I’m trying to win a golf tournament. That could take care of it.”
T-12th — Ben Silverman (-8)
Couldn’t have scripted it better really. I’ve got the Canadian shoes on; red and white, and got to play 40 minutes from where I grew up, so it was awesome…. I’m five shots back of the lead and I need to stay inside that top-ten to lock up my card.”

T-17th — Roger Sloan (-7)
Chris Crisologo *amateur* (-7)
“Obviously it’s my first Canadian Open, so really just — I’m just out here to enjoy the moment and make the most of this opportunity”
T-37 — Mackenzie Hughes (-6)
I would love to play every tournament of the year out here at the Abbey. I would take the home course advantage everytime or the sort of local knowledge… I love coming back here. I’ve got good memories, and the crowds have been awesome.”

T-61st — Ryan Yip (-4)
David Hearn (-4)

Missed the Cut (-3 or worse)
Adam Hadwin
(-3)
It’s obviously extremely frustrating to basically live on the cut line every week. It’s tough. It’s nerve-racking. I’m getting a lot of grey hair from it, I know that. But it’s just one of those things. I’ve got to keep working hard. I’ve got to keep putting in the effort and know that the fruits of the labor will hopefully show up at some point, and be ready for it when it does.”

Obviously not the
scores I’d like to put up. I wasn’t overly sharp. Things were really close,  but just didn’t seem to get too many breaks and couldn’t get couldn’t get any momentum going… I feel like my game is a lot better than the scores that I’ve shot the last few days, but yeah, that’s the way it goes.”
